A change does not erase your progress
Sleep can feel different as your baby grows or family life changes. A harder week does not mean you have failed. The label “sleep regression” can describe a change, but it does not explain what your baby needs tonight.
Return to the foundations
Look at timing, the sleep space, your routine and how you respond. Keep the familiar steps that are still useful. Notice illness, feeding changes or anything else that needs care before focusing on a new sleep skill.
Keep support responsive
Your baby may need more reassurance during a change. Offer it. When they are well and ready, return gently to the routine you want to practise. Calm repetition gives you a clearer starting point than changing the whole plan after every unsettled night.
Choose one thing to review
Write down what changed and the hardest part of the night. Katrina can help you bring the full day together and consider a manageable adjustment. You do not need to identify the perfect developmental label before asking for help.
Coaching and healthcare have different roles
This guide offers general education, not a medical assessment. Talk to a qualified healthcare provider about health, growth, feeding, breathing or persistent distress. For an urgent concern, seek urgent medical help.
